B E A Utiful!

After taking a week off from running, I was very tired and couldn't run very well... Or so I thought. I ran only 1.75 miles- running 14 min mile. Not very impressive considering I've done better AND I didn't go far. After a few (36) hours of feeling sorry for my lazy ass, I realized it was an accomplishment running for a mile straight! It was a different style of training than I was used to & time of day.  14 was pretty damn good for first run straight in the morning.

I hit the ground running today!!!
{which mythbusters proved is actually harder to succeed}
I had some pasta 2 1/2 hours before running & I was last to leave the office today so I was already amped up after work. Changed my clothes and ran out the door.

I did 3.3 miles in 43 mins! That's better times than any 5k I've done before.

not sure if I should thank the pasta or the adrenalin... Either way, I feel great. Tomorrow is a day off and back on the road Wednesday. 5 miles is on the calender. Thinking I should run on the beach with the sunset.  :)

Runners high

After I do my run, I feel great! Just knowing its over gives me that runner's high. I could almost keep going just because its not forced...but of course I don't.

I did my longest so far of four miles with Lil D. That girl can run! She doesn't stop, she keeps bouncing in a jog. I stop to just walk cuz I can't breathe. I try to breathe through my nose, even if I have to tell myself to breathe through my nose, but I still run out of breath & need to stop.

When I do my little runs (2 or 3 miles) I'll have to practice the just shuffling the feet without stopping to walk...

Ok, time for a good, hot shower!

Its about time

I decided to run a half marathon! I've been wanting to do this for four years... And its about time. Its a little short notice, but it'll be fun. Lil D from work has convinced me (& is in Santa Clarita)!

I found a training plan that is only 8 weeks instead of 12. I had to modify it a bit due to my school schedule, but it gives me Friday and Sunday off. I am trying to get Jenn to run with us.

I started Saturday night on my dad's treadmill. I did one mile in 16 mins, but that included my warm up and cool down...
Today I ran the golf course and did much better. 13:46 for 2 miles. This did not include the warm up or cool down. I got a leg cramp in the beginning but pushed through.

I'm really excited about this. The running scares me, but to say I did it is what keeps me going!
